American two-wheeler brand, Cleveland CycleWerks debuted in India at the 2018 Auto Expo. Earlier this year, the company had launched two new models - the Ace and the Misfit. The former is offered in 3 variants - Deluxe, Cafe and Scrambler. Cleveland has decided to reduce prices of the Ace Deluxe, which is the only model currently on sale in the Ace range, for the first 200 customers.
The prices of the new Cleveland Ace Deluxe have been reduced by Rs 38,000 to Rs 1.85 lakh. The motorcycle was first introduced at Rs 2.24 lakh (ex-showroom). This offer is not applicable on the Cleveland Misfit. Dealers have already started taking pre-orders of the Misft, which is priced at Rs 2.49 lakh. Deliveries for the new motorcycle will commence in the first week of January 2019.
The Ace range will also receive a Scrambler and Cafe variant, which are expected to be launched in January 2019. With these 2 new variants, Cleveland CycleWerks will have a complete portfolio for the Indian market. These bikes brought to India as CKD kits from China and are locally assembled at its production plant in Pune. Powering the new motorcycles is a 229cc, OHV, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that is capable of producing 15.4bhp of power at 7,000rpm and 16Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox.
The Cleveland Ace has a fuel tank of 14-litres, while the kerb weight stands at 133kg. For braking, the bike gets 298mm front disc with a twin-piston calliper and 210mm disc at the rear with a single-piston calliper. On the flip side, the Cleveland Misfit has a kerb weight of 144kg. While the fuel tank has 15-litres capacity, it offers a ground clearance of 150mm. The Cleveland Ace Scrambler offers a ground clearance of 180mm. The braking system of the Misfit comprises of 320mm disc with a four-piston radial-mount calliper at the front and a 220mm disc at the rear.
The Misift rides on a tubular, steel backbone-type double-craddle chassis. On the flip side, the Cleveland Ace has a square-section single-downtube frame. For suspension mechanism, the Cleveland motorcycle range gets USD front forks and a dual shock-absorbers with five-step pre-load adjustability at the rear.
