Datsun celebrated India's achievement at Olympics Games Rio 2016 by gifting the the recently launched Datsun redi-Go to the rising stars - P.V. Sindhu, Sakshi Mallik and Dipa Karmakar. PV Sindhu won the Silver medal in the women's singles event in Badminton, henceby becoming the first Indian woman to win an Olympic silver medal. Sakshi Malik won the bronze medal in the women's 58 kg category in freestyle wrestling, and became the first Indian female wrestler to win a medal at the Olympics. Deepa Karmakar stood at the fourth position in the finals of the Women's Vault Gymnastics event of Rio Olympics 2016.

India won two medals at the 2016 Rio Olympics, and henceby finishing at the 67th spot, with USA topping the list with 121 medals. Datsun had introduced the “Datsun redi-go app” during the launch of the hatch in June, and so far over 3 Lakh users have downloaded the app. The redi-GO is available across the 232 Nissan and Datsun sales & service touch-points in India. With the Kwid's 0.8L engine doing the duties, the hatch returns an impeccable mileage of 25.17kmpl, while doing a best-in-segment 0-100kmph sprint in just 15.98 seconds. It is also being speculated that Nissan might introduce a 1.0L version of redi-GO on the lines of Renault Kwid. In other news, Datsun recently launched the 'Style' Editions of GO hatch and GO+ compact MPV in India at Rs. 4.06 Lakhs and Rs. 4.77 Lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi), respectively.
