Datsun Go Cross compact SUV concept garnered pretty much attention at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. Now, after two years, the Nissan owned brand has confirmed the SUV for the Indian market. Expect it to arrive here sometime next year. Also, the SUV would be priced competitively against the Ford EcoSport and Tata Nexon under Rs 10 lakh slab.
The upcoming Datsun compact SUV will be based on the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s CMF-A architecture. It would follow the Tata Nexon like compact crossover styling language. Datsun is hoping to grab a large chunk in the segment with the upcoming compact SUV that will measure under four metre in length. On the powertrain front, this SUV will be available with a single engine, a 1.0-litre turbocharged version of the Datsun RediGo’s 1.0-litre petrol engine. Interestingly, there won’t be any diesel engine for the upcoming car.
As we have reported earlier, Datsun is also gearing up to launch the facelift versions of Go hatchback and Go+ MPV. Both the cars will arrive here during upcoming festive season. Datsun has tweaked the styling of both these models and added more features in order to make them more stylish and urban, while the safety features introduced have enhanced the protection level for the occupants.
