Datsun has broadcasted that it will reveal the new Go in Jakarta, Indonesia on the 17th of September, 2013. The GO will be the first of 2 models that is expected to go on sale in the country. Backed-up by Nissan Motor Company’s universal technical expertise and experience, the new Go was developed by Datsun. This car will meet the expectations and aspirations of the new generation of automobile lovers in Indonesia. The brand also stated that all the future models created by them will definitely be attractive, modern, reliable and accessible.
The company also said that the Go will be priced under 100 million Indonesian Rupiah, that’s around 5.90 lakhs in Indian Rupees. There are no other details exposed about the car, but there is a strong gut feeling that Datsun might also introduce a 7 seater compact MPV based on the Go. Currently the MPVs are the dominant force in the Indonesian automobile market, and Datsun also wants to join in the party. It's no surprise if the company also launches a compact sedan based on the Go, because there are already many rumors about it on the internet.
Datsun is not exactly a very new company that came into the car market, it began way back in 1914, that’s exactly 99 years ago. The first automobile created by them was in the year 1933. After a few years into production the brand came under the control of the Nisan Motor Company, and from 1958 to 1986 Datsun was Nissan’s export name. After Nissan started to brand all their cars by their name, eventually Datsun was discontinued an remained so until 2013, when Nissan re-launched the company for manufacturing low cost vehicles for the emerging markets. The new Go which was unveiled in Indian on the 15th of July this year can be expected to go on sale in the early days of 2014.
