The child company of Nissan, Datsun launched its first car of the 21st century named as Go. The Go was launched into the Indian market on 15 of July 2013. This hatchback is featured in a 5 door, and will be the first car that the company has launched in over 32 years. The Datsun is the third child of the Nissan Motors Empire, with Nissan and Infiniti being the other two siblings. Nissan has aimed the Indian small car market with the Go and is expected to confine almost 10% of the market within the year 2017. The GO can be expected to hit sales in the early days of 2014 and the company stated that the car is going to be priced below the 4 lakh mark, which the other hatchback manufacturers currently are in pursuit of.
The Go is powered by a 1.2 liter or 1198 CC engine assembled by Nissan, this engine has the capacity to churn out 67 BHP (brake horse power) with 104 NM (Newton meters) of Torque. This decently powered engine is probable to produce a mileage of 19-20 Kmpl (kilometers per liter). Although the car is priced below 4 lakhs, the dimensions of the Go are more alike to a premium, large hatchback, with 2450 mm wheel base. Longer wheel base means good interior space. The car is designed to attract the new generation of hatchback users, with clear cuts, details and lines which cannot be expected in a low priced car.
The interior is also neat, with a mixture of practicality and intelligent blueprint. The inside has been specifically molded to appeal to the young guns, with its two tone beige fabrics, silver colored buttons, even a new mobile placing stand for Smartphones. The car has created a buzz in the Indian market, thanks to the premium segment standards and low price, now only time will tell on how the car is really going to fair in India.
