After the last teaser image of the redi-go streaming online, Datsun has officially released the exterior images of the Datsun redi-Go. Though, the images have been revealed in a set of exterior rendering ahead of its world premiere scheduled for April 14. The redi-Go will be the third product by Datsun for the Indian car market, that features a tall boy design.
The front fascia of the hatch features a large grille with chrome garnishing, flanked by sleek headlamps. The redi-Go gets a prominent crease line running from the front bumper further to the taillamps. On the sides, the rear-view mirror and B-pillar are coloured in black. Overall, the small hatch is really curvaceous with clean rear profile.
Datsun Redi-Go is based on the Renault Kwid’s CMF-A platform, which is a low cost platform, and being an entry level small car it will be positioned under Datsun Go. The RediGo made its global debut at the 2014 Auto Expo as a concept version around two years back. And the company has barely changed the silhouette of the model in the production version. Earlier, the car was spotted a couple of times doing test rounds on Chennai roads, near Renault Nissan factory.
Interesting part comes under the hood, as this entry level small car will be powered by an 800cc 3-cylinder petrol unit, capable to deliver 54 PS and 72 Nm of torque and the power will be transmitted by a 5-speed manual transmission. Earlier, it was speculated that Datsun Redigo would carry the Nissan's 1.2L, 3-cylinder petrol engine, which also powers the Datsun GO and Nissan Micra.
