Datsun, the sister brand of Japanese auto firm Nissan has launched its affordable hatchback redi-Go’s limited edition named redi-Go sport has been launched in India today. The company had launched the redi-Go around June this year which received a positive feedback from the market. Now this limited edition launch can help the company to get some more attraction during the festive season.
Mechanically the limited edition variant remains unchanged from the regular Datsun redi-Go. The redi-Go is powered by a 799cc 12 valve 3 cylinder petrol engine which produces 53 bhp and 54 ps of power @ 5678 rpm. The engine is further mated with a 5 speed manual transmission. Datsun claims that the redi-Go can go up to 25.17 kilometers per liter, so the redi-Go Sport variant won’t be an exception as per the power delivery and mileage.
Aesthetically the redi-Go sport gets themed grille with red accents, theme wheel covers, sporty graphics on the bonnet, roof and on the doors of the car. Additionally, the car is also equipped with sporty roof spoiler. Once you have stepped inside the car, you can feel some change thanks to the sporty dashboard, Bluetooth audio system, all black interiors, remote keyless entry and rear parking sensor. The redi-Go Sport is available in three colours such as Ruby, White and Grey.
The sporty themed redi-Go is priced at INR 3,49,479 (Ex showroom Delhi) and it would be available during the festive season this year.
In 2014 Nissan launched its sub brand Datsun’s first car named Go in India which was incidentally the first car of Datsun brand after three decades. After the Go, Datsun went on and launched an MPV named the Go+, but sadly both the cars failed miserably. However, without losing any hope, Datsun launched another hatchback named redi-Go, which eventually took-off and established a decent presence of the brand in the indian market.
