Datsun India has started doing the rounds for its upcoming product the all-new Redi-GO. A camouflaged Redi-Go was spotted doing test runs on the streets of Chennai. The Redi-Go will be the third model by Nissan’s small car Datsun brand, followed by Go and Go+ MPV. This test mule hints that the car will soon go on sale in India in the coming months, competing the newly launched Mahindra KUV100.
The Redi-GO is based on a CMF-A platform, which is the same platform like the Go, Go+ and Kwid. This is a new lightweight platform which provides best structural stability and rigidity to the vehicle. Looking at the picture, the Redi-Go is somewhat similar to the concept version. It features a similar curvy profile with well moulded hatchback and bumpers, while the front could not be seen in the images. The car seems to get trimmed down with skinny tyres.
Speaking of the power package, the Redi-Go will be powered by 1.2-litre three cylinder petrol engine which will be capable to develop 67 bhp power and 104 Nm torque. The engine will be connected to a 5-speed manual transmission while a top-ranging model could be offered with a an Automated Manual Transmission.
Datsun, the Japanese carmaker has already planned two more launches this year in India that includes the GO Plus-based crossover, Datsun Go-Cross, which was showcased at the Auto Expo 2016.
