With previous release official teaser images for the redi-Go model streaming online, now Datsun has released a teaser video ahead of its world premiere, which is dated for tomorrow. Datsun already has two affordable cars in its line up that includes GO hatchback and GO+ MPV. The Redi-Go is based on the Renault Kwid’s CMF-A platform, which is a low cost platform, and being an entry level small car it will be positioned under Datsun Go.
Showcased at the Auto Expo 2014 as a concept car, the redi-Go will take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 and Hyundai Eon. The car will most likely measure 3.5 meters in length and features sporty front fascia with a hexagonal grille flanked by sleek headlamps. The interior of the redi-Go will also get a new format as compared to other sibling models of the brands.
Mechanically, the redi-Go will draw its power from an 800cc 3-cylinder petrol motor, capable to deliver 54 PS and 72 Nm of torque, while the power will be transmitted by a 5-speed manual transmission. Earlier, it was rumoured that Datsun Redi-Go would carry the Nissan's 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine, which also powers the Datsun GO and Nissan Micra.
