Nissan India is all set to launch the 1.0L and AMT variants of Datsun rediGO next month in the country. If media reports are to be believed, then the rediGO 1.0L and AMT would debut on July 19, 2017 in the Indian market. The company's entry-level and most successful offering rediGO hatch was launched in June 2016 in five grades: D, A, T, T (O), and S. Datsun has retailed nearly 2000 units of the small car on a monthly average basis and till date, over 30,000 units have been sold. The rediGO 1.0L and AMT variants are likely to be similar to the standard hatch as far as cosmetics are concerned.

Underpinning the same CMF-A architecture as the Renault Kwid, the redi-GO 1.0L variant is expected to be powered by the sister hatch's 1.0L 3-cylinder SCe petrol engine. The power output and torque performance figures are likely to be the same at 67bhp at 5000rpm and 91Nm at 4250rpm, respectively. The engine would be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. As for the rediGO AMT, it would borrow the same gearbox that comes with the Kwid. The AMT unit is being developed by using the Bosch hardware and FEV software. With the introduction of these new variants, the Japanese automaker intends to further accentuate the sales of the hatchback. Nissan's alliance partner Renault used the same strategy to increase the sales number of the Kwid hatchback.
Being based on the new YUKAN Japanese design philosophy, Datsun rediGO comes with best-in-segment ground clearance of 185mm. The 1.0L and AMT variants might come equipped with dual front airbags as standard or even optional features. The 800cc variants of the priced in a range of Rs. 2.38-3.34 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) in the country. The price of the 1.0L variant can be expected around Rs. 3.75 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi), while the AMT variant might cost in excess of Rs. 4 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi). The 800cc variants deliver an exceptional mileage of 25.17kmpl (ARAI Specified), while the fuel economy of 1.0L variant could be a bit lower, around 22-23kmpl. The Renault Kwid 1.0L returns an impressive fuel efficiency of 23.01kmpl (ARAI Specified).
