Nissan’s affordable brand, Datsun has officially announced to unveil GO + MPV and a new Concept car at 2014 Indian Auto Expo, in February, New Delhi. Aiming to target the mass segment, Datsun will launch the Go hatchback in the first quarter of 2014. What will make it an alluring deal is its pricing, the hatchback is expected to be priced under Rs.4 lakh.
The GO hatchback that made its global debut in India last year, will be showcased in all available color options. The hatchback will be powered with a 1.2-litre petrol engine, which delivers a peak power output of 68PS with 104Nm of torque. It’s the same engine that does duty to Micra. Coupled with a five-speed manual transmission, the hatchback is likely to offer an impressive fuel efficiency of 23-24kmpl.
The Datsun GO+ is sub-four meter MPV, which will also make its Indian debut at the Expo. The GO+ is a comfortable seven seater MPV with 2+3+2 seating configuration. The MPV shares the platform, interior and engine with the GO hatchback. Datsun might introduce the Go+ MPV with a 1.5-litre diesel engine option too. The GO+ MPV is likely to be priced between Rs.5.7 lakh and Rs.7.5 lakh.
Datsun will showcase the two accessorized versions: the GO hatchback and GO+ MPV with some personalization options. Wearing a futuristic design and styling elements, the new concept car will be the showstopper from Datsun. The Concept model will address young generation buyers of the country, after its production version finally makes its way to India.
