India’s fascination with cars has been in terms of luxury and helping more luxury brands making their presence felt in India, but it is this new generation that takes notice of performance. Hence, when you ask them about these cars, the only Indian manufacturer that will strike in their mind is the “DC Design”. Avanti is one of its products, and now adding oomph to it, the Pune based automaker has introduced the Avanti 310 Limited Edition priced at Rs 44 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Being a limited edition the brand has decided to make only 31 examples of this model. Though there is no change in design, the Avanti 310 appears to be meaner and aggressive version of its predecessor, as it is finished with carbon fibre components, including a two-piece front splitter, sill extensions and a rear diffuser. The new rear deck spoiler that the automaker claims provides high downforce is also made of carbon fibre.
The limited edition sports an added package of LED headlights and taillights along with dark forged alloy wheels. The Avanti 310 limited edition is upgraded with a stiffer anti-roll bars for improved stability, while the interior gets finished with Alcantara leather sports seats and a leather wrapped steering wheel. This two-door model also comes with a TFT instrument console. Still, we couldn’t find any sign of airbags.
Just to add to your knowledge, the DC Avanti 310 Limited Edition has been upgraded to 310 bhp where the standard version makes 250 bhp from the same 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine which was sourced by Renault. It is paired with a 6-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) unit with paddle shift developed in-house by the company.
Further, the ground clearance now stands at 150 mm as the suspension been lowered by 20 mm making it tricky over speed breakers, in turn, this lowered stance also makes the Avanti 310 more aerodynamic. This model will be offered in three colours – Grey with Green, White with Blue and Matte Grey with Orange while the car will be made available from April 2016.
