DC Designs, the Dilip Chhabria-led Indian design firm, has finally started teasing its much-delayed supercar Avanti. The company released the first official image of the car on its Facebook page with tagline 'Feel Alive'. It clearly states that DC Avanti is all set to debut on Indian roads in the first quarter of 2015 and the first batch of 500 cars is already sold out at Rs. 34.93 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, India).
DC Avati, India's first supercar, has the engine mounted in the middle with a rear wheel drive system. It weighs a mere 1580 kgs. and the company has used carbon composite exceptionally in Avantis body. It underpins a spaceframe chassis with a rollcage, while the suspension setup is a double wishbone at the front as well as rear. It comes with a decent ground clearance of 170mm which makes it compatible with almost every terrain, except for rough roads. Dimensionally, it measures 4,550 mm in length, 1,965 mm in width, and 1,200 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,700mm with 255/35 tyres at the front and 295/30 tyres at the rear. It flaunts stylish 20-inch alloy wheels.
Under the hood, it has a 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbocharged powertrain - most probably the Ford EcoBoost - which dishes out a maximum power of 250 bhp and peak torque of 360Nm. The power is transmitted to the rear wheels of the supercar by a 6-speed manual transmission. DC Avanti is being offered in total of 10 paint schemes. As being told earlier, the first batch of 500 cars is sold out, hence deliveries would commence first for those customers who have already booked the car. And, for the new customers, the company has increased the price and the new price lies between 38-40 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom).
