The Superprestigio event has become a famous deal over the last couple of years. You can point its popularity on the facts like, it being held during the off season winter break and also on the fact that a contingent of MotoGP and WSBK riders also participate in the fun, yet intense competition to showcase their supremacy and talent on the flat track indoor racing.
This year is no different and the dates for the 2015 Superprestigio race are out, the race will be held on December 12th, 2015 at Barcelona, Spain and to be exact at Palau Sant Jordi, part of Barcelona’s Olympic Ring up on the Montjuic hill which sits on southwest edge of Barcelona. And, as expected, it is going to be a well received affair with crowds flowing in to watch some of the best racers on the planet racing each other in flat track racing.
No doubt, this year too Marc Marquez will be the most talked about participant of the vent, considering how he helped to bring back the previous races that were held back in 1980's and 1990's his participation adds up being a tad bit more important. Then there is also a fact that Marquez did win the 2014 Superprestigio and back in 2013 he was the runner up for the same.
Though, Marquez will not be the only MotoGP rider to participate at 2015 Superprestigio , there will be ahost of MotoGP and WSBK stars too. From Moto2, the rookie of the year in 2015 Alex Rins, will be coming with ALex Marquez and Xavier Simon will be coming. Mika Kallio who just joined KTM's MotoGP project as a performance tester will also be racing at the event. While from Moto3, the young upcoming talent from VR46 academy, Lorenzo Baldassarri, will also be showcasing his talent and experience of flat track racing at Valentino Rossi's ranch in his home town Tavullia.
From AMA Flat Track racing, the legends, Mees and Baker will also be present, and so does Jordi Torres who will be representing WSBK alongside Nico Terol and Tony Elias. Among other big names from different disciplines are Speedway and Long Track racer Joonas Kylmäkorpi who is the second Finnish racer in the line up, while speedway star Fredrik Lindgren will be representing Sweden at the event.
Then from Supermoto, Tom Chareyre makes a return, and British champion Aidan Collins is joined by runner up Oliver Brindley, and third-place man Alan Birtwistle. And it isn't all, there will be Italian dirt track champion Francesco Cecchini making a comeback to the event, while Franc Serra, Ferran Cardus, and Jaume Gaya are among the local Spanish representation.
Sure thing, we will be updating you with all the fun and racing at the Superprestigio 2015!
