Delhi Odd-Even Rule: Hero Electric appoints 100 E-bikes across Delhi

Since 1st of the January 2016, the odd-even rule has been implemented in Delhi which has certainly reduced the rush on roads but on the contrary metro and bus terminals seems bit crowded now. According to the rule, cars ending with an odd number on the license plates can only be driven on the odd number of days for example 1,3,5 etc. And cars ending with even number on the license plates can only be ridden on the even days like 2,4,6 etc.

This rule has certainly reduced almost half of the traffic on roads and to help those rushing to offices on the peak hours abiding the odd-even rule, Hero Electric has started a free to use service  by appointing 100 E-bikes across different locations of the city. The service has been inaugurated under the name ‘Free and Clean Ride’. Satyendra Kumar Jain, Minister of Health and Industry, Delhi, and Sohinder Gill, CEO Hero Electric, flagged off the new initiative on 1st of January.

Speaking on the new initiative, Sohinder Gill, CEO, Hero Electric said, "The idea is to help office goers and general commuters to experience the joy & comfort of zero polluting Electric bikes and also get to know the advantages of switching over to Electric Mobility." According to the report, Hero Electric will distribute 5-10 E-bikes at various metro and bus terminals across the city and the service will be completely free of cost. People in need can hitchhike a ride from bus/metro terminals during peak rush hour timings – 8am to 12pm and 4pm to 8pm.
