If you are a design student or know anyone who has spent a good number of hours on the CAD software, penning stunning and quirky car designs then this could turn out to be your golden ticket to get that design adopted by a major German carmaker. Volkswagen has opened a new design contest that is challenging students to “create a cool video game car for Volkswagen.”

The contest that opened on 5th of May, will be accepting entries until the 15th of August and students from virtually any field of design are eligible to submit a design proposal detailing a concept car for the German brand. The brief not only invites concept car submissions, but also wants brand new game scenarios for the concept to feature in.

A total of three designs will be selected by the VW deign guru himself, Mr Klaus Bischoff and the three students will secure an opportunity to intern with the design team in Wolfsburg for up to six months.

Volkswagen states that the aim of the activity is to find talented young guns in the field of design with a knack for all things automotive. To find out more about the contest, head to the website www.volkswagen-design-contest.com. Entries from individuals as well as from teams of up to two people are allowed to submit their creations.
