- Renault Triber will share Renault Kwid’s Platform.
- The 1.0-litre petrol and turbocharged engines to get under the hood.
- The front will be more imposing and better than the current gen Renault Kwid.
- Renault Triber may compete with Datsun Go+.
19th June 2019 will witness the Renault Triber unveiling. With this, the Renault Kwid may also open up its new face as both these cars are based on the same platform; CMF-A. Renault Triber will be slated below Lodgy and will also carry a smaller engine under the hood.
Dimension wise, Triber is a sub-4meter vehicle and that way it gets the benefit in GST. At the front, it carries a more imposing and updated design than the Kwid; from some angles, it resembles the much bigger Renault Captur. The headlight unit now houses a projector light setup. The fog lamp housing is placed on the bumpers along with LED day time running lights. The grille seems to be following the new design that we saw in Renault Duster spy shots that we recently reported. Renault Triber image teaser generated by the manufacturer also hints a set of roof rails and a conventional FM antenna.
Under the hood, Renault Kwid’s 1-litre 3-cylinder engine will be powering the Triber. A turbocharged unit is also expected to make its way to the Kwid as well, but that will happen later. The naturally aspirated engine from Kwid though will be more powerful with 74 PS of power paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.
Renault Triber interior is expected to get the latest features while maintaining Renault’s design philosophy. We may expect a touchscreen infotainment system enabled with Android Auto and Apple Car Play. Renault may provide a removable third-row seat to Triber as well. With all these features, Triber may inspire Renault Kwid and share its features and probably become the most affordable feature loaded hatchback.
On the safety front, all basic safety aspects mandated by Government will make their way to the upcoming MPV including ABS with EBD, Airbags and rigid body shell. Renault Triber Price is expected to fall between Rs. 4.5 lakhs to Rs. 7 Lakhs ex-showroom. It will not be having much competition in the market other than Datsun Go+.
