The continuously expanding fleet of supercars with Dubai Police just got bigger with the inclusion of the all-new BMW i8 to its armada. This is soon after the police in Abu Dhabi got a Rolls Royce Phantom earlier this year. The car, in itssignature green colour and white Dubai Police insignia is the first hybrid to be included in the fleet.
The i8 would now be a part of the fleet which includes Bugatti Veyron, a Lamborghini Aventador along with Lexus RC-F, a McLaren MP4-12C, BMW M6 Gran Coupe, Ferrari FF, Audi R8, Mercedes-Benz SL 63 AMG, Bentley Continental, Nissan GT-R and Mercedes-Benz SLS. The fleet also includes the extremely beautiful and rare the Aston Martin One-77, one of the 77 ever produced.
One thing to note is that these supercars are generally are actually used more of a marketing strategy at the city’s more luxurious districts rather than in actual duty, not that anyone would have a chance running away anyway. People would have a better chance of seeing one of these at a quaint beach side ( or recently, inside a mall) than in hot pursuit.
The new toys are invaluable to Dubai in its bid to host the World Expo 2020. With the addition of the i8, the Dubai Police now gets to have both the fastest police car in the world in the form of the Bugatti and the most technologically advanced in the form of the clean fuel i8.
