Ducati has unveiled their most powerful and technically advanced Monster till date. The Ducati Monster 1200 R was recently unveiled in Germany by the iconic Italian motorcycle manufacturer prior to its debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. The new Monster 1200 R is a performance-concentrated version of the Monster 1200 S and almost 15bhp more powerful than the 1200 S. The new Monster 1200 R derives its power from a 1200cc Testastretta V-Twin engine that churns out frightening 160bhp of raw power at 9250rpm and 131Nm of maximum torque at 7750rpm.
Apart from the new power figures, the bike also meet the ultra-strict Euro 4 emissions standards. It is equipped with on grippy 17-inch Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tyres and suspensions consists of a 48mm black-anodized Öhlins fork up front and a single Öhlins shock out back working through a progressive linkage, both fully adjustable, plus an adjustable Öhlins steering damper.
Monster 1200 R comes with an eight-level traction control system (TCS) and the motorcycle also features three different riding modes such as - Sport, Touring and Urban riding mode. The bike only weighs 180kgs dry and with this power to weight ratio, the new Monster will surely burn the ground.
