Ducati says no CKD plans for coming future

Snapshot: Ducati have no plans for introducing their product line-up from the CKD route; will continue with the CBU route

The iconic Italian premium motorcycle manufacturer Ducati re-entered Indian market few months back and launched their line-up starting from the exotic Scrambler. Ducati blew everyone away after revealing the unexpectedly good pricing for its alluring product line-up. With the move like Diavel (Ducati previously launched Diavel at almost 10 lakhs more price than the present one) Ducati is headstrong about making a solid presence in the market this time. Apart from the pricing thing, Ducati established their largest dealership of the world right here in Gurgaon. Counting everything we can figure out how serious Ducati is for the Indian market.

For now, Ducati has no plans for bringing their bikes via CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route and will continue with the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route. Ducati import their bikes from manufacturing facility in Thailand and import from Thailand costs nil or very less tax due to free-trade agreement between India-Thailand. After Gurgaon and Mumbai, Ducati will launch their next line of showrooms in the major Indian cities like Pune, Bangalore and Hydrabad. Following Ducati, the other Italian ultra-premium motorcycle company MV Agusta is looking forward to launch their product line in India. With time, Indian motorcycle scenario has witnessed immense growth as international manufacturers like Harley, MV, Ducati, and Triumph are going head to head in the country’s battlefield.
