Ducati unveils the 2015 Hypermotard SP at World Ducati Week
Snapshot: The new model will come with Corse colours and a 821cc engine that delivers 110bhp of power
The World Ducati Week which finished on Sunday at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, Ducati unveiled the 2015 Hypermotard SP, which flaunts a Ducati Corse inspired colour scheme. The motorcycle was unmasked by Troy Bayliss and Carlos Checa (former World Superbike Champions) at the Misano paddock. The bike is propelled by a new-age 821cc engine which produces 110bhp of maximum power and comes with three riding modes: Race, Sport and Wet. The bike is also equipped with what Ducati calls the Ducati Safety Pack (DSP) which includes a three-level ABS and an eight-level Ducati Traction Control which also takes care of the legendary 1199 Panigale.
It also flaunts increased suspension travel over the existing model of Hypermotard. The front Marzocchi forks are upside-down (USD) and have a travel of 185mm and are 50mm thick. The new avatar also had exclusive variable-section handlebars, a carbon fiber front mudguard and engine covers, a front radial pump with 5-position lever and a dry weight of 171 kgs.
The new model is expected to reach dealerships in Europe and USA by September and will be priced equally to the existing Hypermotard which comes for $14,995 (Rs 9.02 lakhs).
