Ducati has announced that it will unveil its Scrambler range of motorcycles at the 2014 Milan Motorcycle Show in Italy. For those who don’t know, the Scrambler was a commuter-type motorcycle which was incepted in 1962 and had been one of the company's famous models in late 60s. That time, the Scrambler range was available in three different iterations of single-cylinder powerplants – 250cc, 350cc and 450cc engines. However, due to several engine related problems and fading demand, the company had discontinued the model in 1974.

Now the Scrambler is making a comeback. Power will come from an air-cooled twin-cylinder engine, likely to be a derivative of the Monster 696 or 796. Being a totally new motorcycle, the Scrambler will be built from scratch and will be constructed on a new chassis and suspension. The new Scrambler will be manufactured at company's plant in Borgo Panigale, with additional manufacturing in Thailand.
