Mercedes-Benz India, is all geared up and giving finishing touches to the E63 AMG, which will be unveiled in India for the first time in 2014 in the month of July. But just a few days before launching the car, Merc is doing a publicity stunt, to get fans to stand on their feet and wait eagerly for the launch.
The company has posted a sketch on their Facebook page of the E63 AMG giving it a punch line, “A business sedan with powerful AMG engine, pioneering design and thrilling driving dynamics. A super-sedan on its way”. Just a few days earlier, Merc unveiled its new 2014 E-Class at a price of 41.5 lakhs ex-showroom Delhi, and now the E63 AMG will also join the long line of Merc soldiers.
The E63 AMG will be transported to India as Complete built units (CBU), so definitely expect an enormous price tag appearance with it. The E63 will boast a 5.5 liter dual turbo V8 engine that has two output levels, one with 557 BHP (brake horse power) and 720 NM (Newton meters) Torque. The other one with 585 BHP and 800 NM of Torque. This is quite a bit of increment when compared with existing models, the BHP has an increase of 32 points and the Torque by 20 points. The weight of the engine is around 204 Kilos, which gives the Merc an outstanding power to weight ratio. Thanks to the increase in power the car can fly for 0-100 Kmph in just 3.6 seconds, and has a definite top speed of more than 250 Kmph. The engine is hooked up to a 4matic system, which transports power to all four wheels, and also has a 7 speed alacritytransfer automatic gearbox.
The E63 is built with a unique A-Wing by AMG, which permits the automobile to get lesser intakes, and also has a twin-blade grille mounted right above it. The back of the car also has black finishings to the diffuser, and also houses a dual exhaust port which was built by AMG exclusively for the E63. The interior also has new lid touches, with silver seat belts, Nappa leather seats and Alcantara additions to the dash and upholstery.
