EICMA 2015 - KTM Brings Slipper Clutch, Ride-by-Wire and a New Exhaust to the RC390!
Snapshot: KTM keeps adding more and more Ooomph to the RC390 and we like it!!!!
You never count KTM out when it is about grabbing eyeballs in bringing interesting products with even more interesting pricing. So, keeping their tradition of making us drool alive, KTM has gone ahead and given the 2016 RC390 a whole lot of updates that should make it an even better prospect for beginner riders as well as some more sleepless nights for the competition.
To start of the things, KTM has gifted its tiny little maniac of a bike with a slipper clutch, a larger front disc brake (320mm), Ride-by-wire technology, switchable ABS alongwith a new aluminium exhaust that has been designed to meet Euro 4 emission norms. For 2016, KTM is quoting that the brakes on the KTM RC390 have been developed in cooperation with Brembo to provide enhanced stopping power once the anchor is dropped. Finally, adding to sporty and premium lists of features is the addition of adjustable front brake and clutch lever on the 2016 RC390.
As for other mechanicals on the bike , the RC390 continues to use the same single cylinder engine which is a liquid cooled, four-stroke 375cc unit with four valve, twin overhead camshafts and electronic fuel injection. The RC390 with continues to deliver 44bhp and 35Nm of torque.
All these additions doesn't really add up on the visual part os the bike except of the new exhaust that replaces the underslung unit on the current bike. Expect to pay a decent premium over the present RC390 when this updated 2016 RC390 arrives since, the tech that KTM has incorporated into it this time around does not come cheap, still, we trust Bajaj Auto's incredible manufacturing smartness to keep the costs in check!
