So the best time of the year is here and this is Christmas for piston heads like us as it’s raining motorcycles at the EICMA 2015. We are thrilled to see what Yamaha has just pulled out of the cave, the new MT-10 looks nothing less than a hungry beast staring back at you. Look at the MT-10 and it will surely remind you of the transformers age (especially the decepticons!)
It propels the YZF R1’s 999cc liquid-cooled inline four cylinder DOHC 16 valves engine that delivers 197bhp, but being a naked street it will detuned to somewhere around 160-170bhp. Apart from the mechanicals, it will also share some of the electronics like the slipper clutch, three-level traction control like one on the YZF-R1 and also different riding modes through Yamaha’s “D-Mode” throttle mapping. Now riders can even enjoy the functionality of the cruise control, while its short wheelbase (just over 55 inches) makes it a dastardly sharp machine to cut the canyon corners with confidence. The YZF-R1-derived race-developed suspension (revised settings) should make it a riot to ride package without extra chunk of fairing.
