Suzuki has unveiled the specifications of its ‘second generation’ model ‘SX4 S-Cross’ recently. This model was first launched in the annual motor show at ‘Geneva’ this year and was greeted with enthusiasm by by experts and general public. The recent facts about the engine have increased the interest in this model. It is reckoned that it is going to be first launched in Europe.
According to the newspaper reports the model will come with both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol variant will have an ‘engine of’ one point six litres with 4 ‘cylinders’ and will have both ‘manual and automatic’ gear system. The power generated is eighty eight KW at six thousand RPM and one hundred fifty six NM of ‘torque’ of four thousand four hundred RPM. The model will come with very high carbon di oxide ‘emissions’ and fuel consumption would thereby increase between eighteen and seventeen KM PL. The diesel variant is likely to have ‘an engine’ which would be one point six Litre ‘turbocharged’ with a 6 Speed ‘manual transmission’. It would create the same power as the petrol engine but will have more ‘torque’ than the engine which runs on petrol. The Carbon di Oxide ‘emission’ would be between one hundred and ten and one hundred fiften KM. The car is likely to use fuel very efficiently beween the range of twenty four to twenty three KM PL.
Company has announced that the 2nd Generation model is likely to be longer, wider and taller than the existing model in the market. Indian car market is open to the new models of Sports Utility Vehicles which are more neatly packed and it is expected that Suzuki would bring this model soon to India as well; though they have not disclosed any specific date when the car is likely to be available to prospective buyers in India. The reviews received so far are very favorable; they say the model handles well and gives very strong performance.
