McLaren practically redefined the Supercar segment with their iconic McLaren F1 car and now they are ready with their entry level unnamed car, which will be part of the recently established 'Sports Series' line-up and will be placed below the 650S model. Semi-undisguised images of the model have surfaced online for the first time, revealing much of the details about the car.
The car is smaller in proportions than its more powerful siblings and will be sold, both in Coupe as well as Spyder body types. On the front, the car sits on the lower while the back of the car, new and interesting taillights and a massive diffuser can be seen. The side profile shows significantly narrower vents, carbon fiber mirrors while the butterfly doors have been retained.
Under the hood, the Supercar will be powered by the same 3.8 litre V8 twin turbo engine, but the changes will be made on the output front. While the 625 models get in excess of 600 bhp power, the baby Supercar will get less than 600 bhp of power, to reduce any class with the older siblings. Rest mechanical changes will be very minimal.
There are reports that the new Supercar will be sold under the P13 moniker, but nothing is officially confirmed by McLaren yet. The availability of the entry-level model will be from the early 2016, while the unveiling will be as early as the second half of 2015. McLaren is promising that the baby Supercar will be as aggressive as the other offerings from this British brand.
