EV Motors India launched its first EV charging station - ‘PlugNgo’ in association with DLF, Delta Electronics India and ABB India, getting in line with the Government’s vision for electric mobility nation. The company is seeking to set up over 6500 charging outlets, where each outlet would have multiple charging stations with an estimated investment requirement of USD 200 million (approximately 1400 crore) in the next 5 years. These stations will be connected and networked to PlugNgo’s cloud-based integrated software platform.

Speaking at the launch event, Vinit Bansal, Managing Director, EV Motors India Pvt. Ltd. said, “For the nation to progress towards the vision of a large fleet of EVs across the country, a co-ordinated approach between Real Estate Developers, Vehicle OEMs and Charger Manufacturers is necessary and we thank our partners for all their support and look forward to a continued engagement with them.”

The first EV charging station is located in Gurugram and consists of three charging stations – two DC fast chargers and one AC normal charger, with output ratings of 15kW and 3.68kW, respectively. Both use the GB/T Chinese charging standard. The former can charge a 15kWh battery pack in as little as an hour, while the latter will take about six-seven hours to accomplish the same task.

With an idea to provide one-stop-shop, PlugNgo aims to deliver a customized installation support along with maintenance support, round the clock service and remote vehicle charging monitoring & electronic payments via PlugNgo mobile application which is available on both Android & iOS platforms. Not only this it also has a range of charging equipment for all types of two wheelers, three wheelers, passenger vehicles as well as buses that comply with the Global Charging Standard including CCS, Type-2, BIS and CHAdeMO.

The PlugNgo charging solution also comes offers with a vehicle to vehicle charging proposition and customers can avail this facility through the PlugNgo mobile application, maintained and controlled by a location-based networking system. Within a duration of 12 months, PlugNgo is planning to install 20 outlets in the Delhi NCR and thereafter would expand its reach in other cities including Chandigarh, Bengaluru, Jaipur, Kanpur, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bhubaneshwar, Amritsar, Indore, Cochin, and Chennai. Moreover, it would also be set up service centres throughout these cities to provide seamless support to its customers.
