Just few days back Anandakhrisnan R, President-Director of the PT TVS Motor Company Indonesia, spoke about the launch of TVS Draken inspired 200cc Apache. He confirmed by saying that the 200cc Apache will be launched in India near the festive season and it is inspired from the Draken X21 concept model that was previously showcased in the 2014 Auto Expo. Recently one of the new Apache’s were snapped getting tested on road. The completely covered test mule revealed that the new Apache will be equipped with the wider rear rubber, split seats, LED tails lights, stunning new turn indicators and the new Apache looks much bulkier than the present one.
The new Apache draws its power from a 200cc, single cylinder, Liquid-Cooled engine matched to a 6-speed transmission that is capable of producing an stunning 28bhp of power and 20Nm of the peak torque. The output figures sure looks awesome when compared to other 200cc motorcycle present in India. Be it the KTM 200 Duke or Pulsar 200NS or any other same category bike, no one makes enough power as the Draken X21 inspired 200cc Apache. According to Anandakrishnan the new Apache will make its ASEAN market debut in the end of the current year.
The new Apache will be the most premium and advanced Apache offered from TVS. The new Apache is sure to get a lot of changes considering the leap of power in the new version. TVS is also planning to launch a faired version of the same. When launched it will go head to head against various naked machines present in the Indian market right now, such as KTM 200 Duke, Bajaj Pulsar 200NS and the upcoming Mahindra Mojo.
