Few days back we reported that UM Global has come up with their office in Okhla, New Delhi. News from our reliable sources suggests that UM Global will be starting with their operations in India from the last quarter of this year and we shall witness the official launch of UM’s line-up in the ‘Diwali’ season this year.
The US based motorcycle manufacturer will utilize Lohia Auto’s Kashipur, Uttarakhand plant to assemble its products. Currently, UM will be introducing 3 products to the market and one of them will be Renegade cruiser motorcycle. The 223cc engine powering the Renegade is capable of producing 18bhp of power. Renegade’s output figures are similar to those of Bajaj Avneger’s on paper. UM Motorcycles are investing a sum of INR 120 crore for their operations in India and they have already invested a part of the amount for the manufacturing facility's production and research and development purposes. UM will offer the range starting from UM Xtreet, which like the name suggests, is a street bike, Renegade cruiser range, includes the Renegade Commando and Renegade Limited, Renegade Sports and Renegade Duty. UM Global is all set to compete with the Royal Enfield in India and company is ready to launch its products in the last quarter of this year, probably in the year end festive season.
