Tata Motors have launched exclusive websites for two of its upcoming models in India - the Tata Zest and the Bolt - both of which, made their respective public debuts at the 2014 Auto Expo. The Indian automaker has provided all possible information about the two models, complete with plenty of images, hinting that the commercial launch of the Zest and Bolt hatchback is just around the corner.
The Tata Bolt hatchback is essentially, an updated Vista, while the Zest sedan is an all-new model with a small stubby boot, so as to qualify for the reduced excise duty benefit. Both the models will feature similar powertrains and transmission. The petrol variants of both the products will be powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged Revotron motor, while the diesel variants will be the 1.3-litre Fiat sourced Multijet power plant. Both engines will come mated to a 5-Speed manual gearbox. However, the Zest compact sedan is expected to get an AMT gearbox as well.
When launched in the Indian market, the Zest CS will rival the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire, Honda Amaze and the Hyundai Xcent, while the Bolt hatchback will go head on with the Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Hyundai i20.
