The facelift TVS Jupiter was caught getting tested on Coimbatore roads recently. As the photographs explains, there were two units and one them was seen equipped with disc brake at the front. While the test units also had O2 sensors and also there was no choke lever that was seen previously on the Jupiter models. Surprisingly there was also no camouflage on the test units and all the details are quite nicely visible from the spied photographs.

All the above details points towards the addition of fuel-injection to the Jupiter scooter. The fuel-injected model will deliver a sportier and smoother response and we expect these model will be sold alongside the carburetted models. TVS Jupiter runs on a 109.7cc, single-cylinder engine that churns out 8bhp of maximum power at 7500 rpm and 8Nm of peak torque.

TVS Jupiter competes directly against the best seller Honda Activa and the famous Hero Maestro Edge. While Hero only introduced the new Maestro Edge in new colour decals, TVS stepped up the game by addition of fuel injection and disc brake to the Jupiter. The Hosur based two-wheeler manufacturer sold 5 lakh units of Jupiter in just 18 months which itself explains the popularity of Jupiter brand in India.
