The good folks at World Car Fans managed to grab on camera, a prototype of the BMW 3-Series facelift conducting preliminary testing. Although the current model isn't too old, launched almost two years back. But to keep the model as fresh as possible, the 3-series is going through a LCI (Life Cycle Impulse) process.

The facelift comes with many cosmetic changes, the prototype spied here gets a new front bumper, air intake and also the optional full LED headlights. These are the most evident changes on the outside. While on the inside, BMW will give the updated i-drive along with some more features.

More significant changes will occur under the hood, as along with the current engine options, the revised 3-Series will be offered with a variety of three-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, also found in the new MINI. All these engines will be mated to 8 speed ZF gearbox. The BMW 3-Series facelift will most likely be unveiled towards the end of this year or early 2015.
