Bollywood actor and director Farhan Akhtar has bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee painted in ‘True Blue Pearl’ colour. The flagship Jeep SUV in Indian market is priced between Rs. 75.15 lakh and Rs. 1.14 crore (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The SUV comes with a performance focused SRT variant as well. Launched in the country market after showcasing it at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has garnered pretty good attention despite its high price tag.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee portrays masculinity blended with power packed performance and it offers the customers chance to go anywhere in style and extreme luxury. Available in six different colour options, the luxury SUV carries signature Jeep design language. Also, it boasts a wide range of advanced high-end technologies that enable the car to go anywhere under the sun.
Clearly, this SUV is not meant for everyone and the Jeep Grand Cherokee has been able to draw attention of the celebrities with its uniqueness. The SUV comes available in both petrol and diesel engine options. It gets two different petrol engine options that include a 3.6-litre V6 petrol unit and a larger 6.4-litre Hemi V8 motor. The latter one powered the top-spec SRT variant of the SUV.
The smaller petrol engine churns out 285 bhp of peak power at 6,400 rpm and 347 Nm of peak torque at 4,800 rpm. The larger petrol engine pumps out 468 bhp of peak power at 6,250 rpm and 624 Nm of peak torque at 4,100 rpm. On the other hand, the diesel variant is powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 Ecodiesel engine that kicks out 240 bhp of peak power at 3,600 rpm and 570 Nm of peak torque at 2,000 rpm. Transmission duty is done by an 8-speed automatic gearbox in all the variants.
