By all means, the Fast and Furious series have been the most successful movie franchise to showcase high-speed cars doing some serious action scenes. With the death of Paul Walker, the actor and friend of Vin Diesel who played the role of protagonist in the first seven movies, it was not clear if Diesel would continue the series. But the actor quickly cleared the air with his announcement to start Fast 8, the eighth movie in the series, without Paul Walker of course.
After releasing a couple of images from the set of the Fast 8, a more comprehensive set of images have emerged online. This time around though, the images reveal two things - first being the location of filming and second the vehicles used by the actors (which concerns us the more). As revealed by the Fast 8 production team, the movie is filmed in the Iceland and cars will be driven on the Icelandic Ice (how cool is that?).
The cars used by the actors are based on their personalities and traits and if you are an ardent follower of the series, you will instantly recognize which car is designed for whom? There are five cars revealed - a modified Dodge Charger, a Local Motors Rally Fighter, a Tank like machine, an Ice Ram and a Lamboghini Murcielago. We are sure you must have guessed the owners by now!
First up is the man himself, Vin Diesel, whose love for the Dodge Charger is widely known. An ardent fan of the Charger, Vin Diesel aka Dominic Torreto drove around in a Charger fitted for off-road driving in the previous Fast 7 movie. This time, his Charger is formed into an ice racer. Although the American muscle retains its original shape, it comes with an altered wheelbase and fender flares, making it look a bit different. And the bullet holes throughout the body indicates the action we are going to witness.
Next up is Torreto's love and an awesome driver - Letty, who will be driving a Local Motors Rally Fighter, a car best fit for the ice scenes. This one is an off-road coupe, modified with a brush bar, some serious ground clearance, ice compatible tyres and roof-mounted lights. Following Letty will be the I.T guy, Tej Parker in his tank like machine called the Ripsaw. The tracked machine is loaded with some kick ass arsenal.
The flamboyant and funny Roman, and best friend of late Paul Walker on and off the screen will be driving an orange Lamborghini Murcielago to match his personality. There's nothing different about this supercar apart from tyres. Last but not the least is Hobbs, played by the Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson himself. He will be driving an "Ice Ram", much suiting his personality, like the one from the previous couple of movies.
We can't wait to watch the movie in the theatre, and so will you be anticipating its launch!
