In this world of high performance machine, we have a good news for speed maniacs, Ferrari has confirmed the launch of the Ferrari 488 GTB on 17th February in India. The Ferrari 488 GTB has been adjudged with a number of accolades like the winner of the Supercars category of The Sunday Times Top 100 Cars, the ‘Best Luxury Super Sports Car’ award at the 2015 EXCS International Luxury Motor Show, ‘China Performance Car of the Year’ in Guangzhou, Golden Steering Wheel in the Sports car category from the Polish edition of Auto Bild, Auto Swiat, and more.
Ferrari 488 GTB’s design has been designed to increase downforce by 50% over the 458 while reducing aerodynamic drag. It sports a new front double splitter, which increases radiator cooling and a newly designed integrated blown rear spoiler at the rear decklid and bumper that increases downforce without requiring a raised wing. The 488 GTB also gets second generation Slide Slip Control (SSC2) which allows the driver to powerslide through the corners much faster while keeping the car in control incase of slipping or crashing.
Interesting part about this Ferrari is under the hood where this 488 GTB is powerpacked with 3.9-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, and is Ferrari’s first mid-engined twin-turbo V8 since the iconic 288 GTO and F40. The motor is connected with a 7-speed F1 dual clutch transmission that capable to produce 670 PS of power and 760 Nm of torque. It can bolt from 0-100 kmph in mere 3 seconds and 0-200 kmph in 8.3 seconds before hitting an electronically-limited top speed of over 330 kmph.
It will be imported through the CBU route in the country and is expected to priced somewhere around Rs 5 crore.
