Ferrari has yet again won accolades and top honours at the 21st International Engine and Powertrain of the Year award. This win once again led Ferrari to seize the overall title with its 711bhp, 3.9-litre, V8 motor for the fourth consecutive year in a row. Interestingly enough, it is an achievement never captured by any other brand of powertrains ever in the entire history of the awards.
The overall honours went to Ferrari’s 3.9-litre, V8 engine that is used in the Ferrari 488 GTB, Ferrari 488 Spider, Ferrari 488 Pista, and the Ferrari 488 Pista Spider. It also won the Performance Engine award. The award’s 2019 edition saw a shift from capacity segments to power output segments, to make sure there is fair play in terms of judging hybrid engines. Furthermore, Ferrari V8 engine bagged awards in two more categories: the same Ferrari motor was adjudged the best power unit that produces more than 641bhp, whereas the 3.8-litre Ferrari engine used in the Ferrari GTC4Lusso T with 602bhp and Ferrari Portofino with 592bhp was awarded in the 540bhp to the 640bhp segment.
Consequently, with the 2019 International Engine and Powertrain of the Year edition in Stuttgart, Germany, Ferrari now has an impressive total of thirty-one awards.
