Adding to the already shining glory of the iconic Fiat 500, the production firm at Tychy in Poland has rolled out the One millionth Fiat 500 car on 19th April. This count is excluding the cars built in Mexico (Toluca plant). Including them, the count of Fiat 500 will rise to 1,100,000 units. The company has achieved this fabulous number of production units in five years and nine months from the launch of the Fiat 500 model in 2007. The car is being sold worldwide in almost 83 countries.
The newly rolled out one millionth car is a white Fiat of the 135 HP Abarth 500 1.4 model. This has been built for an Italian customer. Though there are one million units produced in the Fiat 500 model, there are many variations in the cars that two identical cars can be found only so rarely. There are a lot of variations in colours, versions, trims, equipments and even in choosing the engine of the customer’s choice. The company claims more than 500,000 possible trims and combination of equipments in Fiat 500. The car can be built according to desires as a comfortable cruiser or an ultra sport car or an elegant city car. The celebration moment had the three cars, numbered 999,999, 1,000,000 and 1,000,001 in a row. The 999,999th car is a red 95 HP S version and is powered by a 1.3 Multijet. This car has been made for an Italian customer. The 1,000,001th car is a light blue Fiat 500C with lounge trim level with 69 HP 1.2 litre engine. This car has been made for a German customer.
Fiat 500 hatchbacks are one of the most preferred cars of the passengers and have received the About.com’s 2013 reader’s choice best car under $17,000 award. It has been awarded the “car of the year 2008” award also. There are nearly 325 thousand fans for this car in its facebook page.
