Fiat 500X 'Opening Edition' Revealed in UK

Fiat has revealed a new new special series of its new 500X crossover SUV for the buyers in UK. Being christened as "Opening Edition”, this special series would be available with both 4X2 “City Look” version and the rugged AWD “Off-Road Look” model. Only 500 units of the Fiat 500X Opening Edition would be sold, out of which "City Look" version gets 325 units, while 175 units have been alloted to the “Off-Road Look” model.

The 4X2 version is based on the Pop Star trim level, which usually comes equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, body-coloured bumpers, cruise control, front fog lights with cornering illumination, automatic climate control, rear parking sensors, “Drive Mood” selector and the five-inch Uconnect infotainment system with Bluetooth as standard. But, the "Opening Edition" of this trim offers special “Art Grey” pastel paint, 18-inch alloy wheels, the Safety Pack, the Comfort Pack, tinted rear windows and an “Opening Edition” badge as standard features. For your information, the Safety Pack comprises of exquisite features such as Lane Assist, Blind Spot Assist, ParkView reversing camera and "Brake Control" collision mitigation system. On the other hand, the Comfort Pack offers Keyless Entry & Keyless Go, front armrest and electric lumbar adjustment on the front seats.

The AWD version is powered by the 2.0L MultiJet II 140 bhp engine with a 9-speed automatic transmission as standard, and is available only in tri-coat “Amore Red”. Like the 4X2 version, it includes a long list of extra equipment including a black leather interior with red inserts, Visibility Pack, steering wheel paddle shifters and, again, an Opening Edition badge. The Visibility Packk comes loaded with rain and light sensors, power folding door mirrors, and electro-chromic rear view mirror. This is in addition to the HID headlamps, adjustable cargo floor, front floor mats, 18-inch alloy wheels, 3.5-inch TFT colour display and 6.5-inch Uconnect infotainment system with 3D satellite navigation which are already standard on the top-of-the-range Cross Plus model.

Fiat 500X 4X2 Opening Edition for the City look has been priced at £17,595 (Around Rs. 17.40 Lakhs), which is equivalent to the price of regular 4X2 “City Look” version, but it offers extra equipment of worth £1,725 (Rs. 1.70 Lakhs) at no extra cost. On the other hand, rugged AWD “Off-Road Look” Opening Edition costs £25,845 (Around Rs. 25.45 Lakhs), which is the price for the general 4x4 “Off-Road Look”. The Opening Edition offers an impressive £2,850 (Around Rs. 2.82 Lakhs) worth of additional features at no cost to the customer. Both these special editions are up for grab in the UK, while the first deliveries slated to commence in and around May 2015.
