Fiat India would finally launch the Avventura crossover on October 21, 2014 in the country. The company has officially announced the same that it will be launching the crossover on the day of Dhanteras, the day which is considered the best for shopping throughout the nation. As known, Fiat Avventura would come in both petrol and diesel fuel trims.
Fiat India has been struggling with its sales of late and with this Punto based crossover Avventura, it intends to end this sales draught. Fiat Avventura would come across three trims in diesel - Active, Dynamic and Emotion, while in petrol guise, the Emotion grade won't be on offer. Fiat Avventura would boast an array of premium features, which would be standard across the entire range, in form of central locking, roof rack, external spare wheel, dual-tone dashboard, alloy wheels, front power windows, foldable key, compass and inclinometer. The top-of-the-range Emotion trim will have added premium features such as ABS, EBD, dual front airbags, foglights, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, electrically-adjustable wing mirrors, remote keyless entry, music system with Bluetooth and steering mounted controls.
The diesel variants of the car would derive power from the 1.3-litre multijet engine, while the petrol variants would be powered by a 1.4L FIRE petrol engine. Both these engines are also on offer with company's flagship hatchback Punto. The diesel mill would rake in a maximum power of 92bhp and 208Nm of peak torque, whereas the petrol motor would generate 89 bhp of top power and 115Nm of peak torque. Both the engines would be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The Avventura crossover is pretty identical to the Punto hatchback, albeit the increased ground clearnace and 16-inch alloy wheels. It would be challenging the likes of Volkswagen Cross Polo and Toyota Etios Cross.
