Fiat India Automobile Ltd. (FIAL), has undertaken a major task to provide free nationwide check up to all the existing customers. The checkup camp will commence from 26th September and ends on 28th September. However, in certain areas including Assam, West Bengal and Bihar, the checkup will be conducted in November 14.
The sheer size of this task is overwhelming considering there are 106 active workshops around 91 cities in the country. Moreover, people will be contacted through SMS and emails to inform them about the program. A complimentary vehicle wash along with 20 % discount on labor and 10% discount on spare parts will be provided. In all, a car will be checked on 52 points and people will get a chance to drive the newly launched Punto EVO and book the Avventura before it's launched.
Speaking about the camp, Mr. Nagesh Basavanhalli, President and Managing Director, Fiat-Chrysler India Operations said, “FIAT India will constantly take efforts to reach out to its current and prospective customers with check-up camps. The nationwide check-up camp is a promising way to connect with our existing customer base and reiterate our commitment to them. Through the check-up camps, we will replicate FIAT’s global standards in after sales service in India. We have seen a very positive response to all the check-up camps that were concentrated in the past and have therefore decided to come up with one more nationwide camp, keeping the need to maintain the car for customer’s especially for the upcoming festive season”.
Fiat India, a subsidiary of Fiat group automobile, S.p.A of Italy, re-entered the Indian market with a joint venture with Tata motors, for the sales and service activities, through the Tata outlets. But the partnership didn't last too long and the Fiat decided to part ways, seeking a target of 150 dealers by the 2014 end for independent sales and service. The current portfolio of Fiat includes only two cars, Linea and Punto.
