Fiat dealerships have started accepting bookings for the new Urban Cross for a deposit of Rs 21,000. This crossover is based on the older Fiat Avventura cross, however significant design changes have been made for differentiating the two models. The Fiat Urban Cross comes with a new grille, redesigned headlamps, new bumpers, body painted cladding and also loses the tailgate mounted spare wheel.
The headlamps get LED and the bezel is much more prominent around the headlamps. In terms of ICE, the car is equipped with touch screen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity and satellite navigation system. The upcoming crossover rides on a larger 17-inch wheels, while the roof rails provide unique identity. The car also includes features like follow me headlamps which is a great add on for a car in this range.
On the engine front the Urban Cross would be available in both petrol and diesel variants. While the petrol variant is powered by a 1.4-liter T-Jet engine which produces 140 bhp and 210 nm of torque. The diesel variant is powered by India's most loved 1.3-liter engine which produces 93 bhp and 209 nm of torque. Both the engines are mated with 5 speed manual transmission. For tackling bad road conditions, Fiat has provided 205mm ground clearance. The car measures 4,000 mm in length, 1,700 mm in width and 1,500 mm in height.
Previously the Avventura and the Punto Evo haven’t done well in the market, so Fiat is banking heavily on the Urban Cross. Fiat is targeting driving enthusiasts and those who are looking for cars with basic off road capabilities with the new crossover.
