The news does bring about a lease of life among all the prospective automobile buyers. Fiat India, the subsidiary of Fiat Chrysler Automobile has announced a sharp cut down on its Linea sedan and Punto hatchback by up to 7.3 per cent and 7 per cent respectively. These changes are effective from the 2nd of January 2017.
The prices of the variants of the sedan cars of Fiat, i.e., Fiat Linea has been slashed to up to Rs. 77,000. The most popular Fiat Linea Active diesel and petrol variants have seen a reduction of Rs. 29,570 and Rs. 57,126 and stand at a price of Rs. 8,70,000 and Rs. 7,25,000 respectively. The most significant price drop has been named for the Fiat Linea Diesel Emotion, which currently stands at Rs. 9,99,000 after a whopping Rs. 77,121 reduction. This step has managed to reduce the prices of all variants Fiat Linea well under the Rs. 10 lakh mark.
Similarly, the most significant price change for the Punto hatchback has been named for the Fiat Punto Evo Diesel Active and Diesel Dynamic with Rs. 41,117 and Rs. 47,365 respectively. Their current price stands at Rs. 6,40,000 and Rs. 7,00,000 for Active and Dynamic respectively. Fiat Punto Evo variants are among the best available hatchback options in the market as they have a wide range of ultra selling points including the highest ground clearance in the segment, reindeer headlamps, rear AC vents, Italian styling design and optical guide LED taillamps.
Apart from the Linea and the Punto, Fiat India has also slashed the prices of the Fiat Avventura crossover variants. The 1.4-litre petrol variant by Abarth will now be available at Rs. 9,99,000, while the 1.3-litre multijet diesel Dynamic variant will see the sharpest slash of Rs. 64,609 and will be available for Rs. 8,05,000.
Following the slashing of prices, Kevin Flynn, President and Managing Director of Fiat company has articulated his vision saying that 2017 is a very significant year for the company as it plans the growth of both Fiat and Jeep brands. The company’s primary focus will be on engaging with its customers and winning new ones.
Earlier, towards the end of last year, 2016, majority of the automakers had announced hike in the prices of all the vehicles quoting the fluctuating Indian economy on a global arena and the increase in the production cost to be the primary reason. However, FCA India has delved a little deeper into winning hearts by doing just the opposite. It can be noted, that the revised prices of the Fiat Avventura crossover variants were applicable from Q4 of 2016 itself.
