And finally Fiat India has listed the upcoming Abarth 595 Competizione on its official website. The website says 'coming soon' and gives a better introduction to the performance hatchback. The Fiat India website has listed a short film about Karl Abarth, founder of Abarth, an elaborate image gallery and dimensions in detail.
Fiat initially came in partnership with Tata for sale and service of their cars and the results were not good. This time around, Fiat wants to play safe and hence they have decided to sell the car through 4 dealerships only - Kashyap Vehicle Works Pvt Ltd in New Delhi, Kolkata-Austin Fiat, Bangalore-KHT Fiat and Chennai-RDC.
The performance hatchback is capable of generating a robust 150+ bhp power and Fiat has packed this much power in a small packet, which is evident by the dimensions chart they have put on the website. 3657 mm long, 1893 mm wide and 1485 mm tall is the dimension for the Abarth 595, which is much smaller to other hatches in the market.
About Karl Abarth - he was a mechanic who started gaining a reputation as a motorcycle racer. Years of experience that he gained from racing pushed him to tune cars and he launched the Abarth performance kit which instantly gained a repo among the buyers. The ready to use kits were low budget and made budget racing a reality in his days.
Talking about the looks, the hatchback is no short of a crowd magnet. The 595 Competizione carries the legendary Italian chic design forward with all the round theme - round headlamps and taillights. The interiors are as gorgeous as the exteriors and Fiat may offer a 5-speed manual transmission as seen in the images.
