Buggati, the Molsheim-based high-performance supercar maker, has delivered the first unit of Chiron supercar to a customer in the US on the eve of Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance 2017. Following Europe, North America is the second most important sales market for Buggati. Almost 30 percent of all the orders received for the Bugatti Chiron come from this region. The price of supercar in the US market is US$2.998 million (Around Rs. 19.23 Crores) including shipping, duties, taxes and charges. The Chiron series is limited to 500 vehicles.
The first US Chiron is a real eyecatcher with its yellow and black colour scheme. The front of the vehicle is patented in bright yellow and the rear in black “Nocturne”. The “Classique” wheels, the Bugatti horseshoe emblem and the trim part of the prominent side line are also painted yellow. The distinctive two-tone colour scheme is continued by the full leather equipment of the interior. Yellow leather is used on the insides of the seats, the armrest on the centre console, the door trims and the C-shaped dividing line in the passenger compartment in contrast to the rest of the interior, which features “Beluga Black” leather. More than half of the total series has already been sold throughout the world.
Buggati Chiron is the fastest and most powerful production car ever made with a 8.0L W16 quad-turbocharged powerplant at the helm. The mid-engined 2-seater supercar has maximum power output of 1479bhp and peak torque performance of 1600Nm. Being touted as a spiritual successor to the Veyron, it is based on the Buggati Vision Gran Turismo Concept car. Buggati Chiron had its world premiere at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. It does a 0-100kmph, 0-200kmph and 0-300kmph sprint in merely 2.4 seconds, 6.5 seconds and 13.6 seconds, respectively. The Chiron supercar has a top speed of 463kmph, though it is electronically limited to 420kmph. Being named after the Monegasque driver Louis Chiron, it has carbon fibre body structure, independent suspension and a Haldex AWD system.
