Paris motor show will witness the launch of Honda's new compact SUV christened as HR-V. Wait, what? Yes, you got it right! HR-V was also the name of a Honda's SUV way back in 1998 when they originally invented the crossover genre 16 years ago. Though more futuristic in design at that point of time, HR-V was not very well received and failed to create any magic among buyers.
Come 2014, Honda is aiming high to capture the most fast growing segment worldwide, compact SUV. Although not disclosing the engine specifications, we are certain that the platform will be Jazz based. Though the interior would be practical enough like Jazz with loads of space offering.
Sitting just below the CR-V, Honda's SUV, HR-V will go on sale in summer of 2015, but only in European markets to start with. Because it will be based on the Jazz platform, chances are, that it will be a front wheel drive as opposed to its predecessor, the 1998 version which was an all wheel drive vehicle. We believe Honda is playing safe here!
