Details deeming Fisker’s all-electric SUV have surfaced on the inter-web, revealing concrete information about the upcoming model set to launch in 2021. The announcement came on the sideline of the unveiling of Tesla’s seven-seat all-electric SUV, Model Y, which is claimed to offer an impressive range of 480 km. Established in 2016, Fisker Inc is a successor to the bankrupted Fisker Automotive Company, which was known for producing Karma electric sedan. The Karma sedan was updated in terms of design and is being sold by Karma Automotive under the Revero nameplate since 2011.
The all-electric SUV from Fisker will be a seven-seat model powered by an 80kWh lithium-ion battery pack. It is expected to offer an impressive electric range of 480 km. Additionally, the electric SUV will get an electric motor on each wheel, implying a four-wheel drivetrain for the model. The carmaker has not revealed the name of the SUV, albeit, an official teaser has been released. As the image shows, the SUV will get a radar system instead of a grille. In addition to this, the yet unnamed SUV will feature a large air intake and futuristic headlights up front. Moving to the side, it will get flared wheel arches.
According to the company, the upcoming seven-seat all-electric SUV will get a Targa-style removable roof mechanism, which will enable folding a part of the roof. There will be enough space inside the cabin to accommodate three-rows. Aside from class-leading space, the SUV will be packed with a bunch of technical aides like a large head-up display and an intelligent user interface among several others.
On the price front, the all-electric SUV is estimated to cost around USD 40,000, which equates to 27.45 lakh in Indian currency. The SUV will enter the testing phase by the end of this calendar year and is expected to launch officially by 2021.
