Ford India today announced that it will be issuing two voluntary safety recalls of 48,700 EcoSport diesel vehicles. The first phase of the recall by the company is 48,000 diesel cars that were manufactured April 2013 and June 2014, to install a new bundle clip on the fuel and brake lines, while in the second phased it plans to recall another 700 units of EcoSport made between January and February 2016 and fitted with a 60/40 rear folding seat, there could be a possibility that the bolts used for some of the rear seat backrest do not meet the required specification.
This the fourth recall by Ford India, where soon after the launch in mid-2013 to relocate the glow plug module and 20,700 units in December last year to fix problems with the front airbag and fuel line. After that in November 2015, the local unit of Ford Motor is recalling nearly 16,500 units of the EcoSport sport utility vehicle to fix a potentially faulty part of the rear suspension unit. With this recalled, it has crossed over a count of 86,000.
Though, there are no such complaints from the customer or regarding any injuries due to these issues. Ford India has asked the owner of affected vehicles to get in touch to their nearby dealer, while the company will replace the parts with better ones
