The Ford Aspire facelift variant details and engine specifications have gone viral on the inter-web ahead of its official launch on October 4, 2018. According to reports, the facelifted Aspire will be offered with 1.2-litre petrol from Ford’s Dragon Series along with a 1.5-litre oil burner which will be retuned for enhanced fuel economy. In addition, there will be a 1.5-litre petrol unit as well. Reports further suggest that the model will be available in five variants namely-Ambiente, Trend, Trend+, Titanium and Titanium+. The 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder Dragon Series petrol engine is currently offered with the Ford Freestyle in the carmaker’s line-up. This unit will be linked to a five-speed manual transmission, whereas the 1.5-litre petrol engine will be paired with a six-speed automatic gearbox which is expected to be offered only with the Titanium grade.
On the feature front, the updated Aspire will receive tilt steering, air-conditioner, adjustable headrests, fabric upholstery and front power window as standard provisions. The Trend variant additionally gets rear power windows, rear centre armrest, passenger vanity mirror, USB & Bluetooth, audio system with speakers, gear shift indicator, tachometer, remote keyless entry, boot lamp and body painted ORVMs with integrated turn indicators. While the Trend+ grade exclusively gets front fog lamps, rear defogger, automatic climate control and a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Sitting above the Trend+, the Titanium trim is expected to pack in additional tech such as chrome grille, push button start. Features that will be restricted to the automatic version include hill start assist, traction control and ESP. The list of technical aides on the fully-loaded Titanium+ comprises a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system supported by Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Ford Sync3, emergency assistance service, dual USB ports. Loaded with safety features, the Titanium+ will get dual frontal airbags, side-bags and curtain airbags.
