The famous ‘Ford EcoSport’ SUV is finally introduced in the Indian car market in June. The wait for this much awaited sport utility vehicle is finally over. It is priced at Rupees five lakhs fifty nine thousands for the petrol variant and for the diesel engine the price is little more, Rupees six lakhs and sixty nine thousand.
The model is availabel in three variants, in petrol, diesel and with so called ‘EcoBoost’ variant. Petrol variant will have a one point five Litre engine, diesel will also have one point five Litre engine, while the new ‘EcoBoost’ will have one point Litre engine. The engine for the ‘EcoBoost’ is turbo charged and gives best performance in fuel efficiency with the ‘mileage of eighteen point nine KMPL. The variant with petrol has a one point five litre engine with one hundred and twelve PS. It comes with an option for automatic as well as manual transmissions and it is the only model which comes with two transmissions; both diesel as well as ‘EcoBoost’ come with ;manul transmission’ only. The car comes with many color options, 8 in number and also have 4 ‘trims’. The interior of the model is fitted with the latest infotainment technology. It can be connected to blue tooth and as well as ‘USB devices’, and has an excellent music system also. The petrol variant with one point five Litre engine is priced at Rupees five lakhs and fifty nine thousands, the price tag for the diesel model with one point five engine is Rupees six lakhs and sixty nine thousands. The Ecoboost model comes with a price tag of Rupees seven lakhs and eighty nine thousand while the model with petrol engine and automatic transmission system costs Rupees eight lakhs and forty four thousands.
With this hefty price tag Ford EcoSport suv has to compete in the Indian car market with already well established models like ‘Quanto’, ‘Ertia’ and ‘Duster’.
